1U is a product manufacturing and marketing organisation working alongside key underwriters to provide a range of highly innovative healthcare products for distribution through UK intermediaries.
The first products launched are 2 new and highly innovative low cost health plans, Flexicare and Flexicash. Both plans are designed to work alongside the NHS by not duplicating areas at which the NHS excels. By removing cover for Accident and Emergency treatment and life-threatening illnesses like cancer, and instead focussing on procedures that have long waiting lists, premiums are substantially less than traditional private medical plans.
All products are being developed in conjunction with UNAT DIRECT Insurance Management Ltd. UNAT are the UK Direct Marketing arm of AIG and manages and administers insurance policies launched by the AIG group. UNAT have around 750,000 policies under their management.
