William Russell expands its direct billing provider network in China and Hong Kong   International expatriate insurance specialist William Russell announce an expansion to their network of providers to extend cashless out-patient access to medical treatment in China and Hong Kong for expatriates who select a Global Health Elite insurance policy. In addition to customary in-patient direct settlement where they guarantee payment for hospital admissions and pay directly to the hospital, William Russell offers affordable walk-in convenience at a number of leading hospitals and clinics in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Expatriates in China have already enjoyed the convenience of the provider network and can continue to opt for direct billing in return for a small annual premium surcharge reducing from 10% to 7.5% on 1st July 2009. From this date, Hong Kong residents can also benefit from the scheme at no additional cost when they take a nil excess. Expatriates with access to the network and treatment covered by their plan, simply present their membership card to receive treatment for routine and minor conditions without the inconvenience of first having to foot the bill and then claim later. Nigel Harris, CEO, William Russell (Asia Pacific) says: “Our direct billing facilities turn our already excellent service levels up another notch. Expatriates in China and Hong Kong will benefit from world-class insurance cover and cashless access to private medical treatment at some of the most well-respected hospitals and clinics in the region. “We are delighted to have a direct billing arrangement with Quality HealthCare Medical Services so that our Hong Kong residents can also benefit, and we are looking to further extend our network of providers throughout the Asia Pacific region” The network’s most recent additions are Shanghai East International Medical Centre, Shanghai St Michael Hospital, and Quality HealthCare Medical Services in Hong Kong. The Global Health Elite Silver, Gold and Platinum plans offer full refund for out-patient treatment including surgical procedures, specialist consultations, treatment, tests and prescribed drugs, plus comprehensive in-patient benefits, emergency evacuation, and maternity and dental care. back to the news
