| FRANCE - NEW RULES INTERPLAN EURO NOW AVAILABLE FOR RESIDENTS UNDER RETIREMENT AGE New reports which have emerged from various sources over the last few weeks have informed that expatriates of all nationalities living in France and who are below retirement age (65 for men and 60 for women) and not working, will no longer be entitled to state healthcare provision through the French CMU. However, no official announcement has yet been made.
The CMU generally covers 70% of the healthcare costs in France and over 80% of the population in France have 'top up' private medical insurance to cover the difference.
This new rule will mean that those expatriates who have retired early will require full private medical insurance and in view of this change we can now offer Interplan Euro to those living or moving to France and who are currently below retirement age.
If you have any other enquiries for France for clients that do not fall within the above criteria, please call us to discuss and we will look at them on a case by case basis.
